Training camp is over and preseason action has begun!

JJ and Henry made it to Dryden after three days of driving. Training camp went well. After the first day, JJ was feeling pretty confident he belonged on the team. After training camp, JJ was still on the roster! Great first step.

No onto preseason games! Dryden lost the first two games in overtime. Tough to lose in OT! JJ got his first goal in game 2. See photo of scoresheet. :) Games 3 and 4 are on the road. More details to follow!

JJ really likes his host family. He says they remind him of his grandparents, Ruby and Poppa. He said they cook every night and the house is always full of food. Can't beat that!

Next stop: Junior A Tier 2 Hockey

JJ and Henry left this morning headed to Dryden, Ontario. Home of the Dryden Ice Dogs who are part of the Superior International Jr A Hockey League. Henry played for Dryden last year and pretty much has a spot secured for the upcoming season. JJ will have to show what he's made of during training camp against a pile of Canadian boys. If for some reason JJ doesn't make the team, he does have a spot on a team in Hudson, Wisconsin - the Hudson Crusaders. Dryden is a Tier 2 team. Hudson is a Tier 3 team. So Dryden is definitely the preferred team. So here's to JJ! Go kid go!

Here's a map that shows Dryden (A) and Hudson (B) just so you have a sense of where these places are.
